EA Taking a Brief Hiatus

by Daniel A. Kaufman

EA will be going on a brief hiatus, as I confront a family emergency.  My father is in medical ICU, and his future is uncertain at the current moment.

If any of our fine writers sends me an essay, I will publish it, but I will not be able to produce anything myself for a short period.

I encourage our readers to dig into our archives.  Over the years that we have been publishing, we have amassed a significant amount of outstanding content that everyone should enjoy.

All my best and most grateful wishes to our readers.  See you again soon!

    • Thank you so much, but I fear it’s much worse than that. He is in medical ICU and may not survive. I may very well have to make a decision about whether to continue life-sustaining treatment. I will keep everyone in the EA family posted.

  1. I went through the same with my father in 2003.
I wish I would have had the courage to intervene and stop it.
In the end, the medical team decided that further treatment was futile and made the life of my father – what was left of it – only worse. Two days later he died.
I wish you and your family all the strength in the world.

  2. Our prayers are out for your Father. I have been there, and the only thing I had for strength was the knowledge of all of those who love and support me. Take care of your business and we will welcome your post in the Future.

  3. A very unfortunate but all too human tragedy. I wish you and your family the strength to continue through this.
